Committees

The various events and activities of the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church and the Greek Community of Niagara are organized and run by the following Committees:

 

1.  Church Committee 

Fr. Photios Tsamis, Peter Vlahiotis.

This committee works in conjunction with the Board of Directors and Parish Priest and is responsible for all matters relative to the Church.
 

2.  Land Development Committee

Members: John Paraskevopoulos, Harry Korosis, Nick Fortuna, Bryan McGregor, Pete Koroneos, Rick Dritsacos and Steve Hadjiyannakis.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to develop the property in order to create long term sustainability for the Church and Community. 
 

3.  Finance Committee

Co-Chairs: Jordan Fois, Rick Dritsacos, Eva Fortuna.

This committee works with the Board of Directors and Treasurer. It is responsible for the accounting, financial organization and reporting of the Parish. 
 

4.  Building & Facilities Committee 

Chair: Pete Koroneos, Vice Chair: John Paraskevopoulos, Bill Makris.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to maintain the current building facilities and property, and to implement building projects on behalf of the parish community.
 

5.  Niagara Greek Festival Committee

Chair: John Philippeos, Harry Korosis, and Steve Hadjiyannakis, Members: John Paraskevopoulos, Pete Koroneos, Maria Apostolakos, Angelo Polihronis, George Morfidis, Peter Vlahiotis and Corina Psarrou-Rae.

This committee works with the Board of Directors and is responsible for the planning and organizing of the Annual Niagara Greek Festival. 

 

6.  Library Committee 

Members: John Paraskevopoulos, Pete Koroneos, Lazaros Janetos, George Morfidis and Corina Psarrou-Rae.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to create a dedicated library area that houses a good collection of theological books and Greek cultural resources, promoting intellectual exploration and spiritual growth. Additionally, we aim to establish a bookstore that offers a wide range of items of religious and cultural significance. The committee would also like to create a space where community members can come, sit and relax.
 

7.  Greek Dance Committee 

Members: Jodi Kandiotis, Sofia Kandiotis and Evy McCormack.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to manage our community's Greek Dance Program.
 

8.  Youth Committee 

(Volunteers needed)

This committee works with the Board of Directors to organize & manage youth activities.
 

9.  Folk Arts Committee 

Members: Lazaros Janetos, Corina Psarrou, George Morfidis, Jodi Kandiotis, Steve Hadjiyannakis, John Paraskevopoulos and Pete Koroneos.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to organize and coordinate the Greek Community's entry in the Niagara Region's "Folk Arts Festival" activities.
 

10.  Fr. Tzaneteas Memorial Scholarship Committee 

Members: Pete Koroneos, Peter Vlahiotis, Georgios Panagiotaros and John Paraskevopoulos.

This committee works with the Board of Directors to select youth from our community at the college and university levels to award each qualifying student with a bursary. This fund has been dedicated in loving memory of Fr. Dimitrios Tzaneteas.

 

We are currently looking for Community Faithful Members to serve on all of our Church Committees.
